What is the difference between Carbon Fiber, Hi Mod Carbon Fiber, and Hybrid Water Fed Poles?

What is the difference between Carbon Fiber, Hi Mod Carbon Fiber, and Hybrid Water Fed Poles?

Water Fed Poles come in a variety of materials, each with their own benefits.

Hybrid - This refers to poles that are a mix of carbon fiber and glass fiber. The main benefit of these poles is their affordability. They are perfectly suited for an occasional residential clean. You'll find they tend to be a little heavier.

Carbon Fiber - If you're looking for a lighter and stiffer option than a Hybrid pole, Carbon Fiber is the way to go. This is perfect for cleaners who are still budget conscious, but need something lightweight and stiff to get up to 50 feet.

High Modulus Carbon Fiber - This is the next step up the scale in lightness and stiffness over the standard carbon fiber. This is great for residential and low-reach commercial jobs. You'll get the rigidity you need without extra weight.

Ultra High Modulus Carbon Fiber - If you are cleaning windows every day, or trying to tackle tall commercial buildings, then Ultra Hi-Mod is going to be the choice for you. This material is the stiffest, allowing you the best control of the brush at full extension. These poles can reach up to 90'.

What is the difference in water fed poles for residential vs commercial jobs?

Water fed poles that are designed for the highest commercial jobs are made from High Modulus Carbon Fiber making them extremely rigid whereas poles for small residential jobs can be made of a hybrid or carbon fiber. A carbon fiber pole is going to max out at 60' and will feel bendy at that height, whereas a Hi Mod pole can extend to 90' and still feel stiff.

What accessories do XERO water fed poles come with?

XERO wants to make sure you're well equipped for the job, right when you unbox your pole. Each XERO water fed pole includes:

  • Hose: 10' + the Length of the Pole
  • 12" Hybrid Brush
  • Fast Lock Angle Adapter
  • Euro Threaded Pole Tip
  • Bonus - Acme Threaded Pole Tip
  • Premium Quick Connect Push to Fit Set
  • On/Off Valve

What is the difference between Telescopic and Modular Scopic Poles?

When it comes to XERO poles, the distinction of Telescopic or Modular Scopic refers to how the sections are connected. Either style of pole will still allow you to extend them to reach higher windows when you're working.

Telescopic - These poles nest perfectly down into themselves. You extend sections out to use them, and then collapse them when you're done and store your pole away.

Modular Scopic - These poles are made up of parts. You'll have a Telescopic base pole, and then additional sections that stack on the outside, but don't nest with the others. When you are done for the day, you'll remove the extensions before storing your pole away.

For example: If you have a Micro Pole, the 30' base is telescopic. When you add a Universal Extension to make it 40', it's now considered Modular Scopic.
