Are Base Caps and End Defenders the same thing?
Base Caps and End Defenders have the same job of preventing damage to the bottom of your water fed pole. However, they both do the job slightly differently.
- Base Caps - These are made of a more flexible material that slide over the bottom of the pole. There's a hole in the center so if you run your pole hose internally, you can keep the same set up. These are not permanent fixtures on the pole and could be removed if desired.
- End Defenders - These are small metal rings that are built into poles. These offer less coverage than a base cap. End Defenders are permanent pieces in a pole.
What is the difference between ACME and Anti-Spin Pole Tips?
ACME Tips and Anti-Spin Tips work very similarly, but they allow you to use different tools on your water fed pole.
- ANTI-SPIN - These pole tips accept Euro Threaded tools. Water fed brushes that are not using a quick lock system like the XERO Fast Lock, are likely using euro threads.
- ACME - These tips are designed for traditional tools like dusters and bulb changers. They allow your water fed pole to do double duty and accept items useful for traditional window cleaning.
When choosing your pole tip you also need to consider the material. Plastic pole tips are more affordable, while the metal tips are more durable.
Both tips offer a channel for you to thread through your water fed pole hose if you like to run your hose internally.
