Water Fed Pole Safety

Safety begins with identifying potential electrical hazards at the job site. This includes assessing whether hazards are present and ensuring that all workers are informed through a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and a Site-Specific Safety Plan.

When working near electrical hazards, proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is critical. This includes electrically rated gloves and dielectric footwear to protect against accidental contact or arcing. Additionally, water-fed poles with insulating, non-conductive materials should be used to further reduce risk.

Key safety practices include maintaining safe Minimum Approach Distances (MAD) from power lines and establishing Drop Zones to ensure adequate clearance if equipment is dropped. These proactive measures help prevent accidents and create a safer work environment.
