Which filter is better, Chloramine or Carbon?

The great debate: Chloramine vs Carbon pre-filters.

Do I really need a Chloramine filter?

Well, it depends on where you are working. If you're primarily getting water from your customer's wells, then you're probably fine with just a Carbon filter.

However, if you're working off municipality water, then you may want to consider a Chloramine filter. These filters are specially designed to remove the chlorine that gets added as water gets processed. It will help protect your RO membranes, ensuring they don't lose their efficiency prematurely.

How do I use Loose Resin?

Loose resin may look intimidating, but it's actually super easy to use.

When changing out resin in your DI Tank or Canister, you want to remove all the old resin first. Then, you simply pour in new resin, being sure to fill it. If you only partially fill your tank or canister, water won't be forced through correctly and it won't be effective.

That's it! Replace the cap and you're ready to start cleaning again.

If you have extra resin, be sure to keep it in an air tight container so it doesn't dry out. The longer it sits after being opened, the more likely it is to lose efficiency.

Are Filters Reusable?

Filters are not reusable. After they reach their end of life, it's time to chuck them and get a new one.

The housings and cartridges that filters go in are reusable.

For example, the DI Canister will need fresh resin periodically, but you can keep using the same DI Canister over and over. If you don't want to deal with refills, then you can toss the canister and just buy a fresh one every time.
